In an effort to revamp my blog and get it up to date, I’d like you to tell me about your favorite family destination in Tampa, and why. I will select one winner at random to receive 4 tickets to the 5:30pm performance of “Mickey’s Magic Show” at the St. Pete Times Forum on March 6, 2011.

My favorite family destination in Tampa is Lowry Park Zoo. This destination is fun for all ages. The animals provide an educational aspect and you run across handlers sometimes that will give you an up close look at an animal, like a dingo, owl or lizard. There are petting zoo areas. They bring in specialty animals, such as reindeer at Christmas time. You can also take behind the scenes tram ride to look at wilder animals such as giraffe, zebra and, cheetah. In addition to the animals and education, the zoo also offers a lot of fun! There are rides for the kids – a flume, roller coaster, merry go round, etc. plus water areas. It’s an all around good time for families!

We love the Zephyrhills sprayground and playground in the summer time because it’s free!! and the lake has a nice sidewalk to go all the way around. There are always different kinds of ducks
and apple snails and snail eggs. The park is nice because it has a ton of huge oak trees for shade. There are actually several different parks around the lake that the kids can play at and plenty picnic tables.
