Hot news! Disney just announced today that you can get a free ticket to Disneyland or any Disneyworld park on your birthday in 2009. You can read all about it in their article here. This is reflective of the trend in “celebration vacations.” More families are choosing to make their vacations or celebrations serve double duty as both. When you are shopping for a vacation like this, the highest priority is finding something for everyone, and Disney has it in spades!

There’s a deal even for passholders. If you go on your birthday and present ID, instead of getting in for free, you can choose one of the following three gifts. The Fun Card is essentially a gift card that you can use (only on that day). I’m not sure if it works for dining.
* A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket* for you to use on your birthday for merchandise, recreation or fun activities at select participating locations at Walt Disney World® Resort; or
* A special birthday FASTPASS® badge+ for certain attractions at the Theme Park you visit on your birthday; or
* A 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket for you to use any time until your next birthday.
